Join an industry leader as a full-time direct HR/Payroll Administrator.  This is a long-established, resilient, yet growing, manufacturing and assembly company near Willmar, MN.  The HR/Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the bi-weekly non-union payroll and for the HR function supporting over 50 employees.  Under general supervision, you would be responsible and knowledgeable in the areas of staffing, onboarding, total rewards including PTO and HR documentation. 
 
Essential Job Responsibilities:


Payroll
Using online payroll system, verify and reconcile bi-weekly payroll
Applying correct pay rates, including prevailing wage rates
Maintain time off accruals
 
 
HR Recordkeeping
Post new positions and maintain applications
HR documentation and record keeping for areas of staffing, safety, work comp:
Organize and maintain and update department electronic files and databases
Manage confidential information
Maintain and update employee files; Ensure record keeping is in compliance with applicable laws and audit guidelines
Function as employee liaison for routine questions and policy interpretation.
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee data.
Maintain HR system records and compile reports
Documents work instructions for HR administrative processes
Assist with updates to HR materials
Provides general administrative support to the HR area for company-wide programs
HR Project Work  
 
Benefits Coordination
Maintain ongoing employee benefit programs
Process enrollment, change and termination paperwork
Serve as point of contact for external benefit and insurance carriers and brokers
Ensure accuracy and timely processing of benefit invoices
Administer portions of COBRA
Answer employee questions
 
Workers’ Compensation
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of injuries to workers’ compensation carrier
Maintain, file and post OSHA reports

Must be detail oriented, organized and deadline driven
Strong customer service orientation
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs to include Excel, PowerPoint and Word and ability to learn online payroll and time off system
Understanding of HR operations and processes
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Knowledge of state and federal laws and requirements pertaining to Human Resources activities
 
Required Education and/or Experience:
3 + years administrative support experience including minimum one year administrative support experience within an HR or payroll or accounting department


 
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Experience with payroll software preferred
Background and experience in state and federal government requirements of reporting, gathering and reporting of employer/employee information.
Associates degree or equivalent work experience in HR administration or payroll or benefits
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
Benefits support experience
